Intern for HIAH

History In An Hour (HIAH) is looking for an intern initially for a period of three or four months between June/July and September/October 2010. The number of hours is negotiable but ideally a minimum of 15 hours per week.

The position is unpaid but would suit someone looking to boost their CV or expand their experience in digital marketing and SEO.

History In An Hour is still a relatively new project. People have reacted very positively to the HIAH concept and content but we are now in need of some concentrated marketing and search engine optimisation to help spread the word.

HIAH is based in London, UK but will consider applicants from anywhere, as long as you have broadband internet access, are self-motivated and ideas-driven. You would receive telephone / email guidance and feedback but essentially you would be expected to work relatively unsupervised.

Projects would include:

Improving keyword optimisation of the site,
    Optimising ALT tags,
    Pinging blog postings,
Establishing a presence on bookmarking sites,
Establishing a presence on Facebook and other social media platforms,
    Optimising Google AdWords,
Exploiting Google's recent SEO Report Card.
    Link building
Marketing to schools and colleges (US, UK and/or elsewhere)
    Marketing to press and media.

The list is far from exhaustive and the successful candidate will have freedom to add to the list where appropriate.

Please apply in the first instance by email to intern@historyinanhour.com with the subject heading HIAH Intern, and include your CV or resume and outline of your availability.

Short-listed candidates will have a telephone / face-to-face interview depending on location.
